I don't remember a time when I was not drawing or painting. From the time I was a little girl, the world has always appeared to me as a series of paintings. I imagined brush strokes. I mixed color in my mind's eye and mentally arranged scenery into wonderful compositions. Strangers became imaginary models as I posed them and watched shadows change shape when they moved. Photography enabled me to extend this technique with lenses, filters, and film. Capturing light and shadow is my passion. |

I work en plein air as well as in the studio, often beginning
a piece with studies on site to capture the freshness of
the scene and then finishing it in the studio. I have studied
art at the University of Colorado at Denver, the Denver
Art Museum, the Art Students League, and with a number of
national and local artists. I am a signature member of the
Colorado Watercolor Society, Colorado Pastel Society and
numerous guilds. My work has shown in juried international
and national exhibitions, and has received many awards as
well as recognition in national publications. Both my fine
art and photography are in corporate and private collections
across the country. |
